The Legian Bali
With the Seminyak stretch filled with beautiful beach front resorts, each of them offering something different, it can be difficult to decide where you should stay, however, if your list of requirements includes, luxury laid on, ocean views, romance, an incredible location and a perfect pool – We can highly recommend The Legian Bali.
This stunning sophisticated resort may not be the newest on the Seminyak strip but she is most certainly the Grandest (a major refurbishment to upgrade all rooms and facilities did take place in 2012). Approaching her 21st birthday she has stood the test of time and is proof that luxury lasts forever.
Beachfront and so very beautiful, The Legian Bali offers the best of everything. With her distinctive Balinese style, this property is spread large with nearly every corner of the property looking out to the famous Seminyak beach.
The landscaped gardens are lush with THE softest and greenest lawn I have ever stepped on, the 3-tiered pool situated smack bang centre of the resort is so blue you will spend every daylight hour by it and if you are like me, will not move until the sunset is done and dusted, the poolside dining menu is delicious (snob favourite, the prawn cocktail – hello yumm) and the cocktails are served with smiles as big as the ocean this property faces. I can promise you all the worries in the world will be forgotten when you walk through the impressive entrance – this place literally projects peace and tranquillity.
Each and every room at The Legian Bali has ocean views, so no need to worry when making your booking that you will be in the back blocks facing a stone wall. The suites are large and luxurious, all with enormous terraces and jaw dropping views, obviously the higher you are the more you see, we were lucky enough to be on the 3rd floor – which overlooked the pool and an amazing view that stretched from Jimbaran to Pereranan.
Our 2 bedroom suite was huge and I mean HUGE !!! I could have held a party for 100 in this suite and still had room to swing a CAT. Dining area, Butlers Kitchen, Lounge area, a dreamy bedroom and a bathroom bigger than some people s apartments. Everything you could want, and some things that you didn’t realise that you would want are included in the suites. From the nespresso coffee machines, the ipod that plays various genres of music, the blue ray dvd machine, the dreamy bath products, the complimentary mini bar, the list goes on, and on.
I could spend hours, probably days laying by the Pool, 3 tiered and so very very blue, it is truly mesmerizing, with the 3rd tier being a long 30m infinity edge lap pool which sits literally just above the beach – I found myself grabbing a cocktail and watching the passing procession of beach walkers and gazing out at the waves all day, only moving to my lounger at sundowners to watch the spectacular sunset show.
Dinner is served poolside with romantic candle lit tables for two lining the terrace, if your Boyfriend hasn’t proposed to you yet, don’t be surprised if he gets down on one knee here. The food is delicious and cooked up by a some very talented (& quite handsome) Balinese chefs from their open kitchen – you can walk on over and watch them do their magic. Could not fault anything here – food, knowledgeable waiters, ambience – everything amazing.
I managed to drag myself away from my sun lounger to visit the spa and wellness centre for a organic deluxe facial and a foot massage – hello heaven. A treatment at the spa is must if you are staying here and the well equipped gymnasium will help keep the kilos at bay if you are on first name basis with the cocktail list and pool side dining menu.
Breakfast is delicious, served, again on the terrace looking out to the glistening waves.
There is obviously lots to see and do around the Seminyak area which is just a walk away, however, you will find it very hard to leave the confines of this beautiful resort.
Sitting regally and very proudly on Seminyak Beach, everything here is just perfect. I can see why this resort is the choice of Royalty and Dignitaries when they come to town.
If you want to spoil yourself, even if for one night, you cannot go past The Legian Bali.
